Pride flag maker
Create a pride flag that fits you. Start from any of 34 identity flags, change the stripes and colours, add a heart, ring or triangle, then download it. Everything stays in your browser.
Designing an identity flag that lasts
The pride flags that caught on share a few habits. Monica Helms’s transgender flag reads the same either way up. Michael Page’s bisexual flag uses just three colours with a clear logic: pink, blue and the purple where they overlap. Both are simple enough to draw from memory.
- Give each colour one job. If you can’t say what a stripe means in a few words, merge it with its neighbour.
- Check it tiny. Flags live as emoji, avatars and pins. Export a small PNG and see if your stripes still read at 32 px.
- Avoid clashes with existing flags. Browse the full list of pride flags first; a near-copy of someone else’s flag causes confusion.
- Use contrast. Put a light stripe between two dark ones (or the reverse) so the edges stay visible at a distance.

Questions
How do I make my own pride flag?
Start from the flag closest to your identity, or from blank stripes. Select the stripes layer, set the number of stripes and pick each colour, then add a symbol such as a heart, ring or triangle if it carries meaning for you. Download it as PNG to share or SVG to print.
How many stripes should a pride flag have?
Most identity flags have three to seven horizontal stripes. Fewer, bolder stripes stay recognisable at small sizes like a profile badge. If you need more meanings, consider a symbol or a hoist triangle instead of adding stripes.
Can I combine two pride flags?
Yes. A common approach is to keep one flag’s stripes and add the other’s colours as a hoist triangle or chevron (like the Progress flag), or to split the flag diagonally. Add a chevron from “+ Shape or text” and recolour its bands.
Is my design private?
Yes. Your flag is built and stored in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to use the optional AI review, which sends only a text description of the stripes and symbols.
